Some mind-blowing innovations people don't know about

In the world of innovative technologies, it would be very difficult to pick just a particular technology. So, I have written down some of the technologies that are amazing and certainly not many people know about these:

1.  Synthetic leaf that produces Oxygen

The synthetic leaf is developed from a matrix of protein extracted from chloroplasts which absorbs water and carbon dioxide respectively that allows it to conduct photosynthesis and hence produce oxygen just like any other plant. It is very light and less energy-consuming. It was developed by a graduate of the Royal College of Art’s Innovation Design Engineering course, named Julian Melchiorri in collaboration with Tufts University silk lab and named it “Melchiorri’s Silk Leaf”. He believes that his invention can help in long-distance space travel as it can produce enough oxygen to breath.

2. Color-changing Contact Lenses for Monitoring Glucose Level

The major problem for a diabetic person is to constantly measure his blood sugar level to avoid any accident related to the disease. A diabetic person has to draw a drop of blood every time in order to do so.

However, with the help of these hydrogel lenses which have nanoparticles that reacts with the glucose molecules present in tears causing the lens to change its color. Hence one can simply tell the rise and drop in sugar levels just by the color of the lens.

3. Transparent Solar Panels

It was developed at Michigan State University. it's made of organic salt that absorb specific non-visible wavelengths. These solar panels use only ultraviolet and infrared rays to generate energy and let the visible lights to pass through it. The conventional solar cell absorbs only the visible lights. Ultraviolet and infrared rays affect these conventional solar cells. But, Transparent Solar Panels works differently as it takes the ultraviolet and infrared light and “luminescent” them as a different wavelength of infrared light. After that the infrared light is guided to the other end and collected at the edges where there are some thin strips of conventional photo-voltaic solar cells.

4. Personal Neuro Devices

Personal neuro device is one of the latest inventions that is used to calm a human brain by changing the frequency of waves in brain using electromagnetic impulses. This device can detect the behavior of  brain in different situations and the person's reaction with respect to it. One can choose a state of mind and this device will send the respective waves to that person's brain to attain that certain state.

5. Solar Power Satellite

A solar power satellite (SPS) is capable of storing light (solar) energy and transmit it to earth in form of lasers or microwaves. Recently, JAXA (Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency) had successfully transmitted 1.8 kW of energy to earth. JAXA is planning to deploy a geosynchronous solar collector weighing 10,000 metric tons in Earth's orbit.

That’s it! Thank you!
